Sources, edition, and library coverage
Official Census references, research provenance, and the coverage gaps in the NAICS University library.
Official classification references
The site uses the 2022 United States NAICS edition. The Census structure is the authority used for the code/title audit. The Census manual and individual classification lookup provide context for independently checking activity boundaries.
Coverage of this library
1,001 researched profiles are available from a structure containing 1,012 six-digit classifications. The downloadable classification-reference file identifies the eleven missing research profiles and the audit scope. Missing profiles are linked to Census rather than filled with invented insurance content.
Insurance research provenance
The insurance profiles were generated with Claude in April 2026 and imported into this prototype. Individual generation dates remain in the profile data. They are not carrier-approved or fully human-verified. Saved pair notes come from those profiles; automated findings are separate interpretations.
Practice materials
The Starter bank contains 100 fictional scenarios across eight industry groups and 24 coverage topics. Intermediate adds 100 follow-up cases with 32 selectable policy and coverage types. Expert adds 100 complex cases with 37 types, including technology E&O, manufacturers E&O, media, employee benefits liability, and hired-auto physical damage. Its answer explanations reflect our best judgment and may be wrong. Links to Census support classification checking; coverage judgments require independent review.
Downloads and limitations
Code and title validation is complete for the imported records. Descriptions, illustrative examples, alternative-activity text, and insurance research have not received a complete content audit. Downloads preserve those limits and are educational reference material.
