How NAICS University research works
Understand classification sources, intent search, pairwise comparison logic, and the limits of insurance research.
Two layers of information
Classification references describe economic activities. Insurance profiles add operations, exposures, coverage topics, and questions for an underwriting conversation. A classification is not a carrier eligibility rule or a policy decision.
What has actually been checked
The 1,001 imported six-digit code/title pairs were checked against the official 2022 U.S. Census structure on October 12, 2026. The official structure has 1,012 six-digit codes. Eleven do not yet have insurance research profiles here. This audit did not verify every imported description, example, or insurance assertion.
Intent search and keyword search
Intent search normalizes singular and plural terms and uses an activity dictionary to connect everyday language with classifications. Related ecosystem activities are labeled separately from direct matches. Keyword mode uses literal text matching. Neither mode selects a final classification for you.
Comparing two or three operations
Two selected operations produce one relationship review; three produce three pair reviews. Rules examine exposure categories, industry families, saved relationship notes, and the business context supplied. A shared exposure does not establish policy compatibility. Missing research does not establish incompatibility.
Research dates and review status
The imported insurance profiles were generated in April 2026; a generation date records creation, not human verification. The October code/title audit is a different event. No completed human insurance review or ongoing automated source-verification schedule is claimed.
Learning and corrections
Starter tests use fictional scenarios and an answer key based on our best judgment. A score is not a professional qualification or continuing-education credit. Question feedback is currently saved as a local draft, not sent. See Contact & corrections for the current submission options.
